Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner Has Promoted Five Lawyers To Partner

Global IP firm Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner has promoted five lawyers to partner, including John D Livingstone, who practices in the firm’s Tokyo office. Livingstone focuses on US district court patent litigation involving pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and biotechnology. He has a broad range of litigation experience, representing patent owners as well as accused infringers in all types of litigation, including patent, trade secret misappropriation, trademark and copyright.


Other new partners at Finnegan include: Erika Harmon Arner, who practices patent prosecution management, client counseling, and litigation, with an emphasis on electronic technology, computer software, and the internet; M Andrew Holtman, who practices primarily patent litigation and prosecution work in the biotechnology, chemical, medical device, and pharmaceutical areas; Michael V O’Shaughnessy, who focuses on patent trials and appeals, as well as licensing of intellectual property; and Charles Suh, who is experienced in both utility and design patent litigation before US district courts and the US International Trade Commission.

Arner and Suh are based in Reston, Virginia; Holtman and O’Shaughnessy are Washington, DC-based.

Masato Hayakawa, a member of the business department at Morrison & Foerster in Tokyo, has been promoted to partner. Hayakawa’s practice focuses on technology transactions. He has extensive experience in cross-border technology licensing transactions, having worked on major transactions in the United States, Asia, and Europe.

Morrison & Foerster also announced the promotion of Los Angeles-based IP litigator Scott C Moore to partner. Moore’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation with emphasis on high-technology patent litigation. He has represented clients in cases involving products and technologies ranging from telecommunications and software to medical devices and biotechnology.
