Overview

Ray Zhao has more than 23 years of professional experience in the IP field. He has served as director of the legal department at Unitalen and is now director of the international trademark department at the firm, where he has personally handled or supervised numerous IP cases, building extensive theoretical knowledge and practical expertise. He has handled serious cases related to IP prosecution and litigation for many domestic and foreign multinational companies, and has also served as a perennial IP consultant for many famous listed companies, providing strategies and legal advices related to IP rights. Several cases handled by Zhao have been rated by provincial high Courts as the Top Ten Intellectual Property Cases of the Year.

Zhao is widely recognized in leading international rankings as one of China’s top IP attorneys, and has been invited by CNIPA multiple times to participate in the revision of China’s trademark law and related regulations. He is committee member in international organizations including INTA, ECTA, MARQUES and AIPPI. He is a frequent speaker at global conferences, a lecturer of postgraduate IP courses at CUPL and TJU, and an active author on trademark practice and strategy.
