Overview
Justisiari Perdana Kusumah (Justi) is currently the managing partner and founder of K&K Advocates law firm. Kusumah’s main role in the firm is to lead and oversee the commercial IP and dispute resolution practice groups. Justi has been awarded as the most recommended lawyer for intellectual property rights by Asia Pacific Legal 500, World Trademark Review, Chambers Asia, etc.
Kusumah completed his Doctor of Laws program at the Faculty of Law, Pelita Harapan University. He was involved in the drafting of various IPR-related regulations during his appointment as a member of the IPR expert team under the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in 2012-2016. He was also involved as a member of various task forces within the Directorate General PPI of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics. Kusumah was also appointed to be one of the selection committees for Indonesia Broadcasting Commission (Pansel KPI) for 2022-2025 KPI’s Commissioners member. On several occasions he has been a speaker at national and international seminars and forums.
Kusumah was a member of the Indonesian delegation to attend the United States Trade Representative (USTR) Public Hearing in Washington in February 2020 and attended the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) General Assembly in Geneva. Currently he is also active as Executive Director of MIAP (Indonesia Anti-Counterfeiting Society), member of Committee Alternative Dispute Resolution – International Trademark Association (INTA) and a member of Council Diversity, Equality & Inclusivity – INTA.
Kusumah is also the founder of the Indonesia Digital Council (IDC) and is also active as a guest lecturer at several universities and actively writes articles in the field of law, especially IPR and technology law. He is also on the Board of Trustees of the Pandya Astagina Institute's IPR and Technology Law Research Center. He has attended various professional trainings in Canada, Singapore, Japan, Australia, the United States, the Netherlands, Hong Kong and France.
