Overview

Jason Chan is a director in the litigation and enforcement group at Amica Law, specializing in IP disputes, enforcement and technology-related contentious work. Chan is also a registered patent agent in Singapore.

Chan has over 30 years of experience in intellectual property law, including handling complex patent litigation, copyright and domain name disputes, and enforcement across a wide range of technology-intensive sectors. He has led patent litigation in fields ranging from pharmaceutical biosimilars and generics disputes, synthetic diamond manufacture, petrochemicals to oil-drilling platforms and consumer electronics, as well as copyright enforcement actions such as site-blocking orders against piracy networks. He has also acted in numerous domain name disputes and led brand protection programmes for global consumer product companies.

Chan also served as an IP adjudicator with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and as a mediator for domain name disputes with the Singapore Mediation Centre. He is the current president of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (Singapore Group). He also sat on the Law Ministry’s Committee for the Review of Singapore’s IP Dispute Resolution Framework.
