Overview

Dr. Chien-Chung Yuan has been invited as a consultant and patent trainer by the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO) for many years. He was requested to act as the author and editor for drafting The Patents Examination Guidelines for Computer Software-Related Inventions for TIPO. Yuan has been a popular lecturer of patent training courses for Taiwan Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan University of Science & Technology and Taipei University of Science & Technology, etc.; he is a lecturer at the Taiwan Intellectual Property Training Academy (TIPA) and has been nominated as an “Excellent Teacher” for many years.

Yuan was the chairman for The Project for Improving the Competitiveness of Local Industry in Patents for the Taiwan Industrial Development Bureau. As a former leader of the intellectual property (IP) group of the Institute for Information Industry, Yuan has long-term experience in enterprise IP management, and served as an IP consultant for major companies including TSMC, Foxconn, Acer, Uni-President, AUO, Inventec, Delta Electronics, Accton, Gigabyte and others.

Yuan has been invited to serve as an IP consultant in China since 2000, including by the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, etc.
