Overview

Mr. Edmund M. H. Chi is the Managing Partner of SUNDIAL IP law firm and a registered Taiwan patent attorney, with extensive expertise in IP law. His practice focuses on patent prosecution as well as preparation of patentability, validity, and infringement opinion.

He earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University and holds a national professional license in Electronic Engineering. His technical background spans a wide range of fields, including computer architecture, computer software, high-frequency communications, stereoscopic imaging, telecommunication, signal processing, electronic devices, circuits and systems design, network devices and integrated circuit fabrication technology, memories, multimedia systems, applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and computer peripheral systems.

Mr. Chi currently serves as Vice President of APAA Taiwan Group. He has served as a Standing Supervisor of APAA Taiwan Group and a Councilor of Taiwan Patent Attorneys Association (TWPAA). He previously held the position of Chair of the Delegates for AIPPI Independent Members, and Delegate for AIPPI IMs, Taiwan. In addition, he is a lecturer of the TIPO training program for patent examiners as well as the pre-registration training course for patent attorneys on Patent Law Practice.

He is also a member of the AIPPI IP Office Practice and Procedures Committee and a member of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) and the International Trademark Association (INTA).
