Alec Christie joins Mills Oakley in Sydney

Alec Christie has joined Mills Oakley in Sydney, where he is the founding partner of the firm’s digital law (including data privacy) practice. He has more than 29 years’ experience in the field, and has a national and cross-border Asia Pacific practice with an emphasis on data privacy/cybersecurity, multi-jurisdictional privacy compliance, information (including Big Data analytics), digital transformations (including RPA, AI, IoT, Cloud computing and sourcing) and Blockchain, smart contracts and cryptocurrency. He has provided solutions across a range of sectors, including the financial services, government, higher education, online/e-commerce, technology, health/life sciences and entertainment/media. He has assisting Microsoft with the mapping of the privacy laws of nine jurisdictions against the new ISO 27701 global privacy standard, and has assisted emerging and established companies in respect of Blockchain, smart contracts and token/cryptocurrency projects/solutions, including strategy and implementation and a new entrant on establishing a multi-jurisdiction asset backed cryptocurrency.
