Dang The Duc appointed as arbitrator/mediator at SHIAC

Dang the Duc, managing partner at Indochine Counsel in Ho Chi Minh City, has been appointed as an arbitrator/mediator of the Shanghai International Arbitration Center’s (SHIAC) new panel for a five-year term from August 1, 2021 to April 30, 2026.

The new Panel of Arbitrators is constituted by 1,115 arbitrators, among whom 754 are from mainland China; 75 from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan; and 286 from other countries. Arbitrators from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and other countries take 32.38% of the panel. The arbitrators come from 80 countries and regions around the world, including 38 countries along the Belt and Road Initiative. Among all the arbitrators, 761 arbitrators (68.2%) are male, while 354 (31.8%) are female.

Established in 1988, the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (also known as the Shanghai International Arbitration Center – SHIAC) is one of the most active arbitration centers in the world, and has successfully carried out independent, impartial, professional and efficient arbitration services. The awards of SHIAC have been recognized and enforced in nearly 50 countries and regions.
