Steven Jacob returns to Indochine Counsel as full-time foreign associate

Steven Jacob is returning to work full-time as a foreign associate with Indochine Counsel in Ho Chi Minh City January 11, 2021. Jacob will focus on technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) matters as well as tech-focused M&A; he has been involved with Indochine Counsel in various roles for more than a decade, but this is the first time he has worked full time with the firm since 2014.

Jacob is a California-certified attorney who graduated with his J.D. from Santa Clara University in 2008. He worked with Indochine Counsel as a foreign consultant from 2009-2010 before moving to Bun & Associates in Phnom Penh. In 2011, he became in-house counsel for Sanum Investments, an investment fund operating in Laos. In 2014 he returned briefly to Indochine Counsel before going freelance to focus on legal publishing, business development consulting, and content creation. During that time he continued to work with Indochine Counsel as a consultant, overseeing the firm’s Client Alerts and being the editor for the firm’s blog, Vietnamese Law Blog.

Jacob will be working closely with the existing IP & Technology Practice Group and the larger M&A practice and transactional services within the firm.

Indochine Counsel is a business specialty firm with nearly 30 lawyers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Founded nearly 15 years ago, Indochine Counsel has six partners and is capable of handling both boutique services and large M&A deals.
