William Greenlee joins U.S. firm Fennemore in Oakland

Greenlee was partner and managing director of DFDL in Singapore before departure.

William Greenlee, who served regional firm DFDL as managing director of its Singapore, has joined U.S. firm Fennemore in that firm’s Oakland office, where is of counsel.

Greenlee works in the firm’s business and finance practice group; he has more than two decades of experience providing legal advice and structuring deals in North America and Asia, working heavily with clients in technology, media and telecommunications, as well as in manufacturing, retail, banking and finance, real estate development, aviation, hospitality and tourism, mining, power and oil and gas.

He also works on an array of tech and internet matters, such as SaaS and Master Service Agreements, and leads Fennemore’s Cloud initiative – providing quality legal business services to clients without the need for specific brick-and-mortar locations.

While at DFDL, he advised clients including Alibaba in its acquisition of Daraz Group; the Yangon Hanthawaddy International Airport on the airport’s development; a London Stock Exchange-listed company’s acquisition of a Singapore company providing payment solutions and technologies for online and mobile merchants; a Laos resort casino on its negotiation of a gaming monopoly with the government of Laos; and a Macau casino in a dispute settlement with a Chinese company and the Macau government.

He is licensed to practice in California and Nevada.
