A Global Responsibility for Change

At a recent brand protection seminar, organised by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Government's Intellectual Property Department and the European Union Business Information Programme, Nathalie Moullé-Berteaux, director of IP for the LVMH fashion group, shared her experiences of the challenges brand owners face, and what we can all do to effect change.

  • Limited cooperation from legitimate intermediaries
  • Reactive, adaptive and highly organized criminal networks
  • Dispelling the “victimless crime” myth

How to make a difference:

  • Establish a proactive cooperation between brand owners and intermediaries
  • Increase criminal sanctions
  • Enhance international cooperation
  • Counterfeiting is a crime. Get the message out
