To foster ingenuity and strengthen its economy, the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce is spearheading the development of a new National Intellectual Property Strategy.
With the government actively aiming to create a framework that empowers the Lao people to transform their creative ideas into valuable products and services, this comprehensive strategy will align with Laos’ broader socio-economic development goals. A key component involves modernizing the country’s intellectual property management system, making it more efficient, transparent and competitive internationally.
Through this initiative, the Lao government will provide targeted support to its innovators – including youth, researchers, programmers and entrepreneurs. They will gain access to the necessary tools and resources to protect their creations and successfully commercialize them.
By promoting homegrown creativity, the strategy seeks to boost domestic innovation, reduce reliance on imports, and build greater economic resilience.
