First legal tech startup incubator in India selects three local startups to be in its first group of companies

Prarambh, the first legal tech startup incubator in India, has selected three local startups to be in its first group of companies. JRTC Intern, Leegality and LegalMind join the incubator, which was launched in February by Mumbai-based law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. The three were selected out of 51 applications.

JRTC Intern operates a platform that connects law students with internship opportunities at firms. At Prarambh, JRTC Intern will automate the platform and set up a programme for career counselling. Leegality operates a platform that helps businesses digitize and automate document signing. Founder Shivam Singla said experts at Prarambh can help the platform be scaleable and suggest policy changes.

LegalMind is a legal research and file management system that uses artificial intelligence. LegalMind co-founder Anubhav Mishra said the industry leaders and experts at Prarambh can help build advanced data-driven tools.

The three startups moved into Prarambh, which is housed in Cyril Amarchand’s New Delhi office, where they will receive mentoring for six months from “international innovators,” industry experts and lawyers from Cyril Amarchand, the firm said in a statement.
